Obituary

Barbara L. Collins, daughter of Ralph and Olive Skinner, passed away peacefully on September 24, 2024, in Muncie, Indiana, at the age of 94. She was born on June 24, 1930, in Muncie, Indiana. 
Married to Richard O. Collins until his passing, she was a devoted mother and grandmother, known as the biggest fan of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren's sporting events. Barbara lived in Tennessee for seven years, where she was active in the Pentecostals of Morristown Church, before returning to Muncie where she attended River of Life Church.
Barbara was a dedicated office manager for Marsh Management for 30 years. She also taught for 13 years at the YWCA's ENCORE program and managed the post office at Hook's Drug Store at Meadows Shopping Center. 
Barbara is survived by her son, Richard E. Collins (favorite DIL, Tamara); daughters, Anna Shunk (John), Judy Reiber (Joe), and Elizabeth Drayton (Russell); brother, Duwaine Skinner (Diane); grandchildren, Jennifer Paul (Tracy), Jama Koch (Mark), Douglas Davis (Lori), Melinda Davis, Joseph Collins, Emily Collins, Sarah Melachrinos (Dean), Aaron Shunk (Shareen), Adam Shunk (Patricia), Darrin Shaw (Pam), Darrick Shaw (Jaime), Debbie Nash (Darrell), Donelle Davis (Wayne); and many, many great and great-great grandchildren. 
Barbara is preceded in passing by her beloved husband, Richard O. Collins; parents, Ralph and Olive Skinner; brothers, Thomas Skinner and Norman Morrical; sisters, Joyce Browning, Nancy Pulley, and Carol Campbell; and daughter, Dixie McNiece.
Family and friends may call at Garden View Funeral Home, 10501 N St. Rd. 3, Muncie IN 47303, on Tuesday, October 1st, 2024 from 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM. The Funeral service will be held at 12:00 PM with Pastors John Martin and Mike Bingham officiating at Garden View Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Gardens of Memory Cemetery. The family has entrusted the arrangements to Garden View Funeral Home; online condolences can be made at www.gardenviewandgardensofmemory.com.
