Obituary
Barbara Jean Grant of Parrish, FL, passed away on July 24, 2024, at the age of 90.
Barbara was born in Indianapolis, IN, to Dakota and Alta Rexroat. She attended Manual High School and married her husband, Everett Grant, in 1950, sharing almost 60 years of marriage together.
Barbara worked as a produce clerk for Kroger and retired in the late 90s after over 20 years of service. She was a lifelong animal lover, raising various pets and enjoying feeding the wildlife near her home. She was particularly fond of the many family dogs she and Everett loved together. Barbara was an avid reader with a love for spy thrillers. She was a talented floral artist and an outstanding cook. Barbara selflessly took care of her parents while also being a loving mother and grandmother. She truly cherished her time socializing with members of the Red Hat Society. Her family will remember her delightful sense of humor and fiercely loyal nature. Barbara will be dearly missed by those she leaves behind.
Barbara is survived by her daughter, Teresa (Randall) Van Wye; her grandchildren, Chad Van Wye, Ray Van Wye, and Bryan Grant; her great-grandchildren, Connor, Sophia, Izabella, Haley, and Noah; and several nieces and nephews.
Barbara is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Everett Grant; her son, James Grant; her great-granddaughter, Ellah Grant; and her siblings, Paul, Dakota Jr. "Rex," Ronald, and Lester.
The funeral service for Barbara will be on Friday, August 9, 2024, at 11:00 AM at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens, 1977 S Sr 135, Greenwood, IN, 46143. Burial will immediately follow at 12:00 PM.
