Barbara Ann Kennedy

April 16th, 1934 - September 10th, 2024

Obituary

Barbara Ann Kennedy went to her heavenly home on September 10, 2024. Barbara was born on April 16, 1934, the only child of Foy Lee McBride and Margaret Louise Kroelinger McBride. Of the 20 years she spent in Gadsden. Alabama, 70 of those years were along side the love of her life. Edmond Clark Kennedy, whom she married on May 28, 1954, and he stayed by her side up until she took her last
breath. Those who knew Barbara knew she loved her husband and her children, William Clark Kennedy (Nan) and Tammy Kennedy Denson (Jay Aids); her grandchillren, Parker Denson (Lisa), Candace Skelton (Paul Bolling), and Jordan Kennedy: her great grandchildren Madison Cook, Nathan Denson and Carrianne
Denson; and her great great grandson, Hudson Scott Drew; and her loving dog Carley. Barbara's other loves were the children she taught at East Gadsden Baptist Church Kindergarten, where she worked as a teacher and/or Director for 46 years. There were very few places she went that someone
didn't come up to her and say "you were my teacher", or "you taught my children or grandchildren." Not only did Barbara teach at her church, but she and Clark traveled with the Youth Groups and Choirs over the years as they spread God's word through musicals and church camps. Travel didn't stop there
for Barbara, she enjoyed accompanying Clark as he played softball throughout the South.
Barbara was an avid reader and cross-stitcher. She loved her llamas, goats and dogs.
