Obituary

Carol Stockton Hill

Mrs. Carol Stockton Hill, 87, passed away April 16, 2023, at Kate B Reynolds Hospice Home.  She was born December 31, 1935, in Roanoke County, Va. to the late Robert P. Stockton and Frances Virginia Davis Jackson.  Carol was a dedicated member of Parkway Presbyterian Church.  After retiring from the school system, she drove a school bus which she enjoyed. Carol loved children, especially her grandchildren, and her great-grandchildren.  She loved the beach and enjoyed many hours of fishing with her family. In addition, she had a passion for traveling with her husband. Carol raised dachshunds and her favorite was “Littleman” Vince.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband James “Jim” Hill, Sr. and brother, Guy Roberts Stockton.  She is survived by her children, Deborah M. Edwards (Jimmy) of Pinnacle, NC, Lisa C. Tuttle of Walnut Cove, NC, James S. Hill Jr. (Amy) of Tyler, TX, and William E. Hill (Carolyn) of King, NC; grandchildren, Kinsey S. Childress (Sommer) of Walnut Cove, NC, Jason M. Hobbs (Haley) of Pilot Mountain, NC, and Annette M. Morgan (Matthew) of Clemmons, NC; and four great-grandchildren, Claire, Hayden, Madison, and Harley.  A funeral service will be conducted 2:00 PM Wednesday, April 19, 2023, at Hayworth-Miller Rural Hall Chapel with Rev. Dr. Thom Burleson Officiating.  Interment will follow the service at Crestview Memorial Park in Rural Hall.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home beginning at 1:00 PM.  In Lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Trellis supportive Care, 101 Hospice Ln. Winston-Salem, NC.  27103.
