Obituary
Cyrus "Cy" Dean Gustin, 91, passed away at home on February 23, 2023. He was born in Allen County, Indiana on July 23, 1931, a son of the late Jake and Dolores Gustin.
Cyrus owned and operated Gustin Custom Meats for many years. He enjoyed aviation and giving friends and family plane rides. Golfing, sharing stories and fixing things were some of his favorite past times. Most near and dear to his heart were his church, family, friends and working in his shed.
He served as an elder at the Harlan Church of Christ, served on the Harlan Christian School Board, was the President of Board of Directors Mid-state Farmers Mutual Insurance, and was also on the Scipio Township Advisor Board.
Surviving is his wife of 69 years, Norma (Roth) Gustin; children, Beverly (Eric) Giebler, Ricky (Miriam) Gustin, Mary Beth (Kevin) McClish, Diana (Tim) Thompson; eight grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; sister, Ione (Glen) Gorrell; brother-in-law, Paul Dietz.
He was preceded in death by infant daughter, Connie Gustin; and three siblings.
Funeral service will be held at 12 pm on Saturday, March 4th at Harlan Church of Christ, 17108 IN-37, Harlan, IN 46743 with visitation from 10 am to 12 pm.
Burial will take place in Scipio Cemetery, Harlan, IN.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Harlan Church of Christ or the Harlan Christian School.
