Obituary

 IN LOVING MEMORY

David Russell Brooks, 74, of Dunbar, PA passed away in a house fire on August 1,2024.

He was born on January 15,1951 in Dunbar to the late Arthur Paul Brooks and Coriena (Bryner) Brooks.

Dave enlisted in the United States Army in 1968, and served in Vietnam.

David was a loving father, avid hunter, loved fishing, gardening and canning. He loved to spend time with the grandchildren. He also had many friends and a passion to help anyone and do anything.

Dave was an active member of the Lemont Sportsman's Club and enjoyed spending time with his Lemont Sportman's family.

David is survived by his children, Lisa Brenneman, Coriena (Michael) Mckinney, Angie (Gary) Gray, Margaret Brooks, David Brooks, Kelly Stark, Magan Brooks, Harry Brooks, April Brooks (Wayne Fuller); twenty grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; siblings, Sylvia Ellsworth, Resa Hixson, Olive Phelan, Melba Plesz, Ronald Brooks,and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by one grandson Joshua Allen Leyda; brothers, Harry Brooks, Leslie Brooks, Asa Brooks, Herbert Brooks, Paul Brooks, Allen Brooks and Albert Brooks; sisters, Shirley Laporte and Alice Brooks; and a son-in-law, William Brenneman.

A Memorial Service will be held for family and friends on August 17, 2024 from 2-6 at the Morrell Fire Hall on Route 119 (1232 University Drive, Dunbar PA 15431).
