Obituary
Earl Coffey, 88, of Albany passed away August 24, 2024, at Indiana
University Ball Memorial Hospital. Earl was born on February 18, 1936, Stearns,
Kentucky to the late Jay A. Coffey and Mary C. Coffey. Earl married the love of
his life Mary Helen Earls on January 24, 1959.
Earl was a United States Army Veteran, serving with the 82nd Airborne as a paratrooper from 1955 through 1958, earning the
Parachutist Badge and Tank Battalion. After the Army Earl worked at Marhoefer
Packing Company for 19 Years then with Maxon Corporation for 13 years.
Earl cherished his weekends watching football and his grandsons
play baseball, hiking in the Smokey Mountains with Mary, and reveling in the
beauty of nature, leaving behind a legacy of joy and adventure.
Earl is survived by his loving wife Mary; sons, David E. Coffey,
Larry A Coffey (Devona) and Kevin Coffey (Kesha);13grandchildren and 5
great-grandchildren.
Earl is preceded in death by his parents, his son Randy D.
Coffey, and J.C. Whitehead, Roy Coffey, Archie Coffey, George Coffey,
Luther Coffey, Dalton Coffey.
The family will receive family and friends on August 29, 2024,
between 10am and 11am with funeral services at 11am at Garden View Funeral
Home, 10501 North St. Rd 3, Muncie, IN, 47303. Military Honors will be observed
at the graveside at Gardens of Memory Cemetery, Pastor Joe Pewett and Pastor
Harold GoodPaster will officiate the services.
