Obituary

Gladys Rachau Sprankle, a resident of Wynwood House in Boalsburg, PA, passed away on Sunday, July 24, 2022. She was born on July 31, 1931, in Madisonburg, PA to Grace (Hosterman) and Miles Rachau. She is survived by a daughter, Suzanne (Edward) Grieb, of Boalsburg; a son, Michael (Galina) Sprankle, of Phoenix, AZ; a sister, Judy (Jospeh) Gentzel, of Centre Hall, PA. She is also survived by three grandchildren: Steven (partner, John) Sinclair, of Tyrone, PA, Megan (Jeffrey) Hershey, of State College, PA and Anthony (Alexis) Braslavsky, of Phoenix, AZ. She was preceded in death by her husband, Mahlon Sprankle, after 47 years of marriage; her parents; a brother, Dean Rachau; and a sister, Dorothy Regel.

Gladys was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother who loved her family “to the moon and back”. She enjoyed keeping a nice home, reading a good book, growing flowers, all things Penn State, and cheering on the Pittsburgh Pirates. She also enjoyed going to yard sales and finding a good bargain.

Memorial services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
