Obituary
John Martin Mamula of Hopwood, PA,
also known as Jaap or Hulk, passed away after a lengthy illness.
He was born in
Uniontown, PA, graduated from South Union High School, attended Waynesburg University,
and graduated from Findlay University, Ohio.
John was a pharmaceutical sales
representative for Sterling Drug/ Winthrop Labs. He eventually became an
Imaging Specialist (CT/ MRI) with G. E. Healthcare.
John is survived by his wife
Annette of Hopwood, son John, daughter-in-law Cindy and granddaughter Kyah of
Hopwood and daughter Kristin and son-in-law Robert Murli of Stonington, CT. He
was predeceased by his mother Anne Fagler Mamula, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
John had a deep spiritual
connection with nature and excelled in hunting, fishing, and snow-skiing/
racing NASTAR. He enjoyed sports cars and attended numerous car races,
especially 12 Hours of Sebring. While he enjoyed the serenity of his own
backyard, he also made many cherished memories vacationing with family and
friends and had a special connection with the gulf coast of Florida.
John was a member of St. Joseph
R.C. Church, Hutchinson Sportsman Club, Theta Chi fraternity, and O’Gilley’s
Golf League.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted
to Stephen R. Haky Funeral Home, 603 N. Gallatin Ave. Ext., Uniontown, PA 15401 with viewing on Monday, November 18th from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM. A funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, November 19th at
10 AM at St. Joseph R.C. Church, 180 Old Walnut Hill Rd., Uniontown, PA 15401, with burial after at St. Mary Cemetery, Uniontown, PA.
John was loved by many people and
will deeply missed. “And in the end the love you take is equal to the love you
make.”
