Obituary

The world lost a great man and heaven gained a beautiful soul with the passing of Leonard Larussa on July 14, 2024. Leonard was a beloved husband, father, and grandfather.  He met his wife Mireille in high school where their friendship eventually grew into love for each other. Together they were blessed with three children: Fransine and her husband Francisco Diaz, John and his wife Heather LaRussa, and Jeanette, and a cherished granddaughter, Ariana.

Born in Brooklyn, Leonard always remembered his childhood days fondly, reflecting on them with a fun and vibrant personality. He was the son of the late John and Concetta LaRussa and the brother of the late Francis and Maria LaRussa. A passionate Yankees fan, Leonard proudly supported his team and shared many memorable moments watching games with his loved ones. He was also extremely patriotic, embodying the values and spirit of his beloved country.

Leonard was a wonderful man, known for his kindness, humor, and unwavering love for those around him. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

A funeral mass will be held on Saturday, August 17th at 10:30am at St. Stephen Catholic Church, 10118 St Stephen Cir, Riverview, FL 33569.
