Obituary
Michael Eric Burbrink, Indianapolis, passed away on the early morning of Friday, September 13, 2024. He was 70 years old. Mike was born in Seymour to his parents Harry Burbrink and Joyce Burbrink.
He graduated from Seymour High School and attended IUPUI for his bachelor's degree and then Butler University for his master's degree. Mike married his wife, Yolonda, in May of 1992 and together they shared 32 years of marriage.
Mike answered the call of this nation by enlisting in the United States Airforce and after his period of faithful service was honorably discharged and he enjoyed being a member of the American legion.
Mike worked at RCA for several years, then as a supply chain analyst for Beckman Coulter until he retired in 2016 after several years of service.
Mike was a lifelong Christian who preferred to practice privately. He was known to enjoy spending time with his neighborhood garage club; Mike and his friends would watch NASCAR and football regularly. He loved discussing and staying current on politics and he loved good 70’s music. He loved to talk about eternity, the meaning of life, and about “grounding oneself to the earth.”)
He was a very involved father to his beloved children and his granddaughter lovingly referred to him as Poppy. Before they got their driver’s licenses, he drove his three daughters to school, show choir and other events so his family called him “The Duber” (Dad-Uber.) He will be dearly missed by those he leaves behind.
Mike is survived by his wife, Yolonda Burbrink; his children, Erica Burbrink, Elaina Burbrink, and Elissa Burbrink; his grandchild, his parents, Harry Burbrink and Joyce Burbrink; his siblings, Doug (Tracy) Burbrink, Brian (Jeri) Burbrink, Tadd (Tressa) Burbrink, and John (Dee) Burbrink; and his several nieces and nephews. Mike is preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents.
A visitation for Mike will be held on Monday, September 23, 2024, at Forest Lawn Funeral Home from 12:00pm to 2:00 pm. The funeral service will be on Monday, September 23, 2024, at 2:00. A burial will immediately follow at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens at 3:00 pm.
