Obituary
Nannie Darnell Brown died on August 11, 2024. Mrs. Nan died peacefully at home with her son and her little dog on the bed with her. She passed as church services began for the morning.
She had been a resident of Etowah most of her life. She worked at Malone Auto Parts along with her beloved husband “Bill Brown” for several years . Later she worked for Betty Jane Bows. in Rainbow City. In Recent years she volunteered at The Way of the Cross Soup Kitchen..
Mrs. Nan was known to her granddaughter as Granny, Her daughter in law affectionately gave her the name because of her kind giving spirit..
In her spare time she crochet afghans for each member of her family also for a lot of friends and Dr. Robert Myers..
Mrs. Nan was a very gifted and Talented seamstress, craftsperson, she inherited theses from generations before her. Mrs. Nan was a devoted member of New Beginnings FCM Church. Attalla Alabama. Prior to this she was a member of McCauleys Chapel Church. She and her sweetheart went there as young teens along with her in-laws and her parents and many childhood friends.
Mrs. Nan is preceded in death by her husband Bill Brown who died in 2017,son Gary Brown who died in 1986, brothers Lamar Darnell ,Earl Darnell and parents Edward and Zimmie Darnell.
She is survived by her son Danny(Libi) , granddaughters Jessica(Michael) Bertoldi, Makinzie Brown (Ethan Sumner), Ashley(Eddie) Barahona.
Greatgrandchildren Madeline, Reagan, Benjamin, Logan, Ellie, Olivia and soon to arrive Rydge.
Pallbearers will be Greg Smith, Byron Gilliland, Eddie Dillard, Stephen Smith, Eathen Sumner and Michael Bertoldi, honorary pallbearers are The Members of New Beginnings FCM Church Attalla Alabama.

Mrs. Nan is now in the arms of her sweetheart where she had longed to be. She had missed Bill Brown so very much. They are dancing to The Tennessee Waltz again’ I love you Mom and Dad and Gary. I will see you soon.
