Obituary
Norman Lucas, Greenfield, IN, passed away on the early morning of Tuesday, September 17, 2024. He was 95 years old. Norman was born in Middleburg, KY to his parents George and Mina Lucas. He graduated from Mt. Salem High School, Class of 1947.Norman answered the call of this nation by enlisting into the United States Army and after his period of faithful service was honorably discharged.
Norman worked in production for Chrysler and retired in 1984 after over 30 years of service. Norman enjoyed partaking in bowling leagues, dancing, and gardening. He was known to maintain a very large garden and would often give out his vegetables to family, friends, and neighbors. In his free time, Norman enjoyed watching old western movies, UK Basketball, and women’s softball. Norman will be remembered for his sweet demeanor, sense of humor, and outgoing nature. He was a beloved father and grandfather who will be dearly missed by those he leaves behind.
Norman is survived by his son, Ronald Lucas; his grandchildren, Justin (Maria Tamayo) Lucas, Michael Lucas, Ronessa (Rodney) Harvey, and Danielle (Christopher) Ferreris; his great grandchildren, Daysn Lucas, Kayln Lucas, Austin Lucas, Ashelyn Lucas, Ryleigh Lucas, Holly Cosgray, Trey Harvey, Lucas Harvey, Corbin Harvey, and CJ Ferreris; his great great grandchild, Olivia Marie Lucas.
Norman is preceded in death by his parents; his children, Donald and Tammy.
A visitation will be held at Forest Lawn Funeral Home on Monday, September 30, 2024 from 1:30 pm to 3:00 pm. The family will process out to the graveside for a 3:00 pm Military Honors Graveside service before laying Norman to rest at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
