Obituary

It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of our brother, Robert Kelley, of Uniontown, PA (formerly of Lemont Furnace).  Bob closed his eyes to this world and entered eternity on Monday, July 29, 2024 after a lengthy illness.  He passed peacefully under the kind and gentle care of Peroni Personal Care Home.
Born December 26, 1962, he was the son of the late Robert M. and Ann Prah Kelley and was preceded in death by his son, Carey Michael Kelley.  Bob is survived by his son Sean Christopher Kelley and his mother, Daisy Taylor Kelley.  Bob is also survived by six siblings and their spouses:  James & Carol Kelley, Joan & Daniel Craig, Jeffrey & Sandra Kelley, Paul & Juliana Kelley, David & Juliana Kelley, and Carolyn Nolan.  He was also the uncle to seven nieces and nephews and to nine great nieces and nephews.
Bob retired on disability in 2020 as a Maintenance Planning Technician from Longview Power Plant, Point Marion, PA and was a former employee of Sony Industries, New Stanton, PA.
He was a member of the Catholic churches of St. Cecelia, Lemont Furnace, and St. Hubert’s, Point Marion. 
Bob never met a stranger and enjoyed spending time with friends from work.  He enjoyed being outdoors golfing, kayaking, cycling, and hunting.  He loved the beach and was a huge hockey fan.  He enjoyed reading, especially about history and occasional visits with friends to Atlantic City, NJ.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 61 N. Mt. Vernon Ave., Uniontown, PA 15401 on August 7, 2024 at 10 AM with Rev. Andrew Hamilton as celebrant.  Interment to follow at Sylvan Heights Cemetery, Uniontown, PA.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Peroni Personal Care Home, 111 Easy Street, Uniontown, PA  15401.

Everyone at Longview loved Bob. He was a great friend and co-worker that was passionate about his work. Bob made lasting contributions at Longview in developing numerous programs and maintenance strategies that are part of his legacy at plant He also supported and helped lead the employee based charitable fund for several years.
