Robert Mims, age 85 of Jacksonville, passed away on August 26, 2024. A graveside service will be held at Crestwood Cemetery on Thursday, August 29th at 11 a.m. Fred Dixon-Whitt will officiate the service.

Robert will be remembered for his dedicated service in the U. S. Navy. He loved his country and was proud to serve. He was quiet by nature but was stern when he needed to be. His lectures to his children were legendary. However, he was very kind and understanding. He was loved by all and will be greatly missed.

Survived by Alice (Gregory) Lee, Howard (Lisa) Mims, Scott (Misti) Mims, grandchildren Bryan, Eric, Kimberly, Zachary, Kathleen; great grandchildren Everleigh and Robert; brother Charles (Nina) Mims; and his loving friend Sandra Lafollette.

Thanks to the staff at Cherokee County Health and Rehab, especially the CNA’s and nurses for all the care and love they provided. Also, the entire staff at Enhabit Hospice of Rainsville, with special thanks to Lisa and Audra for dad’s special care.
