Obituary
Stephen Ray Jordan, Indianapolis, passed away on Tuesday, September 17, 2024. He was 78 years old. Stephen was born in Indianapolis, IN to his parents, Ralph and Norma Jordan. He graduated from Southport High School, class of 1964.
Stephen worked as a production associate for Allison’s for 31 years and retired in 1996. Later, Stephen became a bus driver for the special needs children of Center Grove Community School Corp. Stephen was a very involved member of Glenns Valley Church; he enjoyed participating in mission trips and volunteering his time. Stephen was also a member of AA; he eventually became a sponsor in the program and an advocate for those around him. Stephen enjoyed being social and was known to enjoy his weekly breakfasts with his lifelong friends to discuss common interests. Stephen was a lifelong golfer and enjoyed spending his spare time golfing with family and friends. He was also a cat person and named several of his orange cats, Little Kitty. Stephen’s family would describe him as a good dad; he will lovingly be remembered for his quick-witted humor and his family-oriented nature.
Stephen is survived by his children, April (Kenny) Barr, Bryce Jordan, Breanna Vaughn and Sandy (Steven) Crouch; his grandchildren, Lillian, Ryan, Theo, Quinn and Ryan; his nieces and nephews.
Stephen is preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Ralph Jr., John, Denny, and Robert.
