Obituary
Susie Irene Dubree
Born in Grider, Kentucky east of Glasgow on June 3rd 1938, Susie Irene Dubree was one of eleven children; seven brothers (Buddy, Bobby, Cletus, Colonel aka “Doc”, Dean, Delton & Sherman aka “Junior”) and three sisters (Betty, Carol & Edie), and was happily married to Charles Dubree for 42 years.
She loved Bluegrass music and attending Bluegrass Festivals, Elvis Presley, playing card games and traveling around the country with Charles.
Her house was a second home to many regardless of if they were family or friends. Over the course of her life, Sue not only looked after and cared for her kids and grandkids, but for several of her nieces and nephews, two foster kids, as well as many other children after school and during the summer.
Many family gatherings had been held at her house over the years. The kids would play Euchre or Rook at the kitchen table while Charles grilled fish in the driveway and Sue would set out her beloved homemade cream corn and the fruit and vegetables that were grown in the garden in the backyard.
Sue was loved by all in her family, and we are indebted to her for the many things she has done for us all these years.
She is survived by her three sisters Betty, Carol and Edie, two sons Dwayne (Debbie) and Kenny, and four grandchildren Kara (Justin), David, Wil and Charlie, and three great-grandchildren, Jackson, Aubrey and Amelia.
We love you, Sue.
In lieu of flowers we ask that any donations be made to the ALS Foundation in memory of Charles and Sue Dubree.
